Responsibilities:
- Carrying out inspections in breweries, manufacturing plants and other various heavy industries
- Interpreting and evaluating test results in accordance with applicable standards, codes or specifications
- Carrying out all relevant equipment checks and calibrations as required by the standard or test procedures
- Working to international standards ensuring requirements within them are met
- Collecting, collating and reporting with sketches, where applicable, the result of the NDT examination
- Presenting reports containing all relevant information in a factual, comprehensive and unambiguous manner
- Supporting the team with process improvement
- Maintaining all records, standards, procedures, notes and log books in an orderly, efficient manner and have them for UKAS audit
- Utilising different pieces of technology and software to carry out reports and other documentation
Qualifications:
- Minimum qualification must include a PCN Level 2 in all of the following; UT 3.1, 3.2, 3.8 and 3.9, MPI, DPI and Eddy Current (Welds)
- Candidates must have experience of testing various weld geometries across a wide range of equipment and industries
- Candidates must also have the ability to use their initiative whilst working on site and maintain the highest level of H&S awareness
- Flexibility to work both on client sites (UK and abroad) and in the laboratory
- You will need experience managing your own workload, and be happy working in an environment with changing priorities
- The ability to communicate technical problems and be comfortable client facing
- This is a physically demanding role and as such you must be comfortable and able to work at heights and in confined spaces
- A good level of IT and literacy skills in order to complete detailed customer reports
