Responsibilities:
- Advises airplane development projects and the current Boeing in-service fleet.
- Develops and coordinates Engine Control system work statement.
- Analyzes, prioritizes, plans, tracks, controls risk, and implements technical solutions.
- Coordinates internally to meet system and airplane requirements across multiple functions.
- Tests software and analyzes results.
- Collaborates on certification of the engine control and thrust reverser systems.
- Addresses and investigates fleet and production issues related to the Engine Control and Thrust Reverser System.
- Provides support for safety and compliance investigations.
- Manages and prioritizes multiple tasks in support of certification and airplane delivery schedules.
- Communicates project status, risks, issues, and opportunities to Propulsion and Program Leadership.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, computer science, mathematics, or physics
- 10 or more years of experience in commercial aerospace Engineering or equivalent engineering work experience
- 5 or more years of experience in Engine and/or propulsion control systems design, development, and certification.
- Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
- Qualifications as US Federal Aviation Administration Unit Member(ODA-UM) or Designated Engineering Representative (DER)
- Experience in product and operational Safety Management Systems (SMS)
- Knowledge of Part 33 and Part 25 Federal Airworthiness Regulation (FAR) compliance for propulsion systems.
- Experience with Engineering requirements development and design assurance
- Experience with System Failure Hazard Assessments (FHA) and System Safety Assessments (SSA)
